LifeSciences BC welcomes Theravance's Dr. Mathai Mammen as their featured speaker for the next Breakfast Speaking Series. As a Harvard- and MIT-educated scientific founder and Head of Research at Theravance, Dr. Mammen will share his story of building this billion-dollar Bay Area company, right from getting it off the ground to building a vibrant pipeline of important potential medicines; Theravance's lead product telavancin, an antibiotic for life-threatening gram-positive infections, is in registration in Canada, Europe and the United States and awaiting approval.
"Keening Your Edge" will also feature speakers from the local community: Dr. Michael Hayden of the BC Clinical Genomics Network and Bruce Schmidt of Genome BC.
