BCIC partners with the province's research institutions to promote research, innovation and commercialization of advanced technologies. To facilitate the transfer of technology into industry, BCIC provides support through the main phases and critical juncture points in the commercialization process.
BCIC supports academia & research through:
- Technology transfer activities in industry liaison offices at the post-secondary and public research institution levels
- Entrepreneurs in residence at post-secondary institutions who identify research with commercialization potential and facilitates its transfer into industry
- Proof of concept and prototype development phases in new ventures
- Education and mid-career training in advanced technology sales in post-secondary business schools
