British Columbia Innovation Council supports innovative and entrepreneurial students as they progress through B.C.'s education system and enter into careers in the province's advanced technology industries. Through BCIC programs as well as overall coordination and facilitation of science and technology outreach in the province, BCIC encourages students to explore the world of science and technology and to choose to further their education in B.C.'s post-secondary institutions.
From primary through secondary school to post-secondary education, BCIC provides support to students in the main phases and transition points of their education. BCIC offers scholarships to innovative high school students to encourage their enrollment in undergraduate science and technology programs at B.C.'s post-secondary institutions; and it supports entrepreneurship education for science, technology and business undergraduate students.
BCIC also offers substantial scholarships for science and technology graduate students involved in research innovation; and business graduate students who partner with them to develop business plans to advance their innovations towards commercialization. BCIC provides fellowships to post-doctoral researchers to support technology commercialization opportunities in the province's advanced technology industries.
